Faster and safer ports

AI computer vision
for port land and water surface monitoring
Real-time port intelligence
PortSurveyor.AI is an advanced platform dedicated to port operations, designed to enhance visibility, safety, and efficiency across maritime environments.
Our port-sector solution is the product of years of R&D refined through real-world deployments across Europe, Morocco, and North America. It brings together real-time monitoring, intelligent data analysis, and scalable deployment capabilities to support a wide range of port use cases, from traffic management to asset tracking and environmental monitoring.

The problem PortSurveyor.AI solves:
โ AIS in harbours
AIS performs well at sea, but struggles in port environments. In confined waters, even small errors (up to ~10 m) become critical.
Not all watercraft are required to carry AIS, and some may switch it off once inside the port, or simply have it configured incorrectly.
โ This results in blind spots in boat tracking where visibility matters most.
โ RADAR near port infrastructure
Ports are complex, and radar systems feel it.
Cranes, terminals, and docked ships can block signals and hide boats from detection.
At the same time, reflections and signal โbounceโ can create ghost targets.
โ This results in missed watercraft and false detections in busy environments.
PortSurveyor.AI rebuilds visibility in ports.

PortSurveyor.AI complements existing systems while providing independent, camera-based situational awareness.
โ Real-Time Multi-Modal Tracking
Accurately tracks multiple water-surface objects in real time using a collaborative system of RGB, infrared, thermal, and LiDAR cameras. This fusion of technologies significantly reduces blind spots and improves detection reliability in all conditions.
โ CCTV Integration
Designed to integrate effortlessly with existing CCTV infrastructure, minimizing disruption while enhancing current surveillance capabilities without the need for full system replacement.
โ Cost-Effective & Easy Deployment
Optimized for quick installation and efficient operation, especially in environments with 5G connectivity.
โ Independent of AIS Systems
Operates without relying on third-party AIS compliance or usage, ensuring consistent monitoring even when vessels do not transmit AIS data.
โ Full Port Authority Control
Provides complete ownership and management to port authorities, ensuring data sovereignty, operational autonomy, and enhanced security oversight.
โ Scalable Across Port Environments
Adaptable to ports of all sizes and types, from small marinas to large commercial ports. The solution can be deployed incrementally across your operations, minimizing the need for major changes.
Our PortSurveyor.AI projects:

01
Full visibility & motion tracking
Real-time geolocation of all watercraft within the port, from large container ships to small leisure craft such as kayaks and sailboats. The system continuously monitors watercraft movement and generates alerts in case of potential collision risks. Each detected boat is enriched with key operational data: speed, length, heading, and trajectory.
โ This enables precise anticipation of traffic conflicts and supports safer, more efficient port navigation in highly mixed-traffic environments.
02
Smart asset tracking across port operations
PortSurveyor.AI tracks assets in real time across quays and external port facilities, including vehicles, containers, and equipment. From initial identification (via RFID, OCR, QR codes, barcodes, or equivalent systems) to final exit from the operational zone, every asset is continuously monitored.
โ Operators and port authorities gain a unified, real-time operational view of what is on-site, in transit, or already shipped, improving traceability and reducing processing delays and asset loss.

03
Dynamic quay & berth occupancy management
Monitoring of quay and berth usage provides a clear, real-time view of port capacity and extended stays.
โ This enables smarter allocation of docking spaces, reduces congestion, and improves operational efficiency, particularly in marinas and high-traffic terminals.

04
Boat identification & recognition
Boats are identified through a combination of tracking data, camera positioning, and recognition of visual or structural characteristics, without reliance on OCR alone.
โ This ensures robust identification even in visually complex or low-visibility conditions.

05
Water pollution detection
Continuous detection of environmental anomalies such as wastewater discharge, floating debris, surface foam, and abnormal water coloration.
โ This enables early identification of pollution events and supports environmental compliance and response.
06
Air pollution measurement
Real-time estimation of the levels of certain atmospheric pollutants, such as dust, and detection of the presence of smoke, using visible-spectrum imaging over large outdoor areas.
โ This provides a cost-effective alternative to traditional sensor networks while maintaining continuous environmental awareness.

โ CASE STUDY โ
Port of Barcelona โ Americaโs Cup 2024
During the 2024 Americaโs Cup, the Port of Barcelona required enhanced real-time visibility of all watercraft movement within a highly constrained and high-traffic maritime environment. Traditional monitoring systems left gaps in the tracking of small and non-commercial craft, limiting operational awareness in critical zones.
A real-time geolocation system was deployed to track all waterborne traffic within a designated dock area, from large container ships to small vessels such as kayaks. The solution integrates live positional data directly into the portโs GIS infrastructure, providing a unified and continuously updated operational view.
Deployed under high-density, real-world conditions, the system demonstrated reliable performance across diverse watercraft types and traffic volumes. Following its successful validation during the event, the deployment is now being extended to additional areas of the Port of Barcelona.
